Kenny Pickett has spent nearly a decade as one of the most important sports figures in the city of Pittsburgh. He spent five years at the University of Pittsburgh, starting 49 games and going 32-17. That includes leading the Panthers on a magical 11-2 season in 2021 that culminated with an ACC championship and a trip to the Peach Bowl.

Pickett then became a first-round selection of the Pittsburgh Steelers, starting 12 games for the Steelers as a rookie. He led them to six wins in their final seven games to end the 2022 season, solidifying himself as Pittsburgh’s quarterback of the future. In the eyes of Pittsburgh sports fans and PA sportsbooks, Pickett has helped to set the bar high for the Steelers in 2023 and in years to come. Let’s learn a little more about the life and career of Kenny Pickett.

Kenny Pickett Family 2023

Kenny Pickett is the son of Ken and Kasey Pickett. Both of his parents were college athletes, which helps explain why Kenny is such a natural athlete who made it to the NFL. His father Ken was a linebacker who played at Shippensburg University at the Division II level. He was even nominated for the Harlon Hill Award, which is the Division II version of the Heisman Trophy. Meanwhile, his mother Kasey played soccer at Kutztown University, which also competes at the Division II level.

Kenny also has a sister named Alex. She played soccer at East Stroudsburg University, helping the Warriors win the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference championship three times and play in the NCAA Tournament at the Division II level four times. Alex also earned All-Region honors in three of her four college seasons. Since graduating in 2018, Alex has become an assistant soccer coach at Seton Hill University.

Kenny Pickett Age 2023

Kenny Pickett was born on June 6, 1998, in Ocean Township, New Jersey. He is currently 25 years old and will turn 26 in June 2024, which will be prior to his third season in the NFL.

Kenny Pickett Net Worth 2023

As of 2023, Kenny Pickett’s net worth is an estimated $6 million. As a first-round pick, Pickett received a fully guaranteed four-year contract from the Steelers worth $14.1 million. That contract included a $7.4 million signing bonus. However, since he’s only midway through his rookie contract, Pickett has yet to collect all of the money on his contract.

Kenny Pickett Wife 2023

Pickett has been married to his wife Amy Paternoster since June 2023. The couple got married prior to Pickett’s second season in the NFL. While Kenny and Amy only started dating in 2021, they knew each other since they were kids. They grew up in the same New Jersey town and saw each other at the gym. However, they didn’t hit it off as a couple until 2021 when both went home to New Jersey while on break from school and connected at a party.

While Pickett was playing football at Pitt, Paternoster was pursuing her own athletic dreams. In high school, Paternoster was named New Jersey Girls Soccer Player of the Year. She stayed in-state to play college soccer, doing so at Princeton. Paternoster scored five goals and had six assists during her three seasons of playing soccer at Princeton. In addition to playing college soccer, Paternoster graduated from Princeton with a degree in economics and a certificate in finance. She also had internships at Fund of Funds Private Equity at Ardian and Goldman Sachs.

Since Pickett and Paternoster didn’t start dating until 2021, the first time she saw Pickett play football in person wasn’t until the final home game of his college career. Paternoster was by Pickett’s side when he was drafted by the Steelers in 2022. She was then happy to move to Pittsburgh, where she works at PNC Riverarch Capital as a private equity associate.
